It stared with a simple dip and an end to a gruelling 48 hour fast.
I never completed a fast before.
I was dreaming of succulent Big Macs and crispy Filet-O-Fish (you must know how hungry I was to call anything from McDonalds succulent)!
We danced and shook our tambourines to and praised God with abandonment.
It was my Aunt’s church. I had recently met her and her reputation preceded her. She was a woman of God. And like myself, was able to reveal things to people that would come true. I guess the gift of sight indeed ran on my mother side. Except, my mother was mighty pissed when it skipped a generation!
After the fast, we took a school bus to a nearby lake, where a group of people dipped me in the water.
I felt blessed.
I was left felt light.
On my way home I promptly stopped at a drive-through and bought everything!
Afterwards, I started reading the Bible casually for solace. One of the first verse to stick out to me was
(QUOTE)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
 Matthew 6:33 KJV

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6:33 KJV

Seek First, His Kingdom

01

This one verse could pull anyone out of the rat race or fear.
It would take me a few years to understand what it meant. I guess I had to let it play out in my life. It was the first verse that every time I prayed, turn on a program or talk to someone etc., the verse would always come up. I knew then that God did not want me to ignore the importance of this verse.
There comes a time when you have to abandon what you think you know about your life and about the world. It is very fearful and painful. I began to live my life with blind faith. You see faith can make you wobble back-and-forth, it is believing what you don't see. However, BLIND FAITH is when you close your eyes and jump with abandonment and KNOW that God will catch you!
He is waiting for you.
I am telling you that miracles upon miracles, the type that would shake anyone to the core, happened because I sought God with all my heart and soul, while striving on the path of righteousness. I remember, I was worried if I could still pay my bills and feed my family. I opened the Bible to Matthew 6:33 KJV and then I realized that if I sought God out by having a relationship with Him and focused on Him (the Kingdom), instead of the world (or being scared of the world) and the situation I was in, used blind child-like faith AND was proactive, God will take care of my needs. You just can't sit on your ass and not do anything. God works through you.
I cultivated a relationship with Him that went beyond just saying prayers. I talked to Him and asked for advice; even if it was to find me a cheap tray of chicken on sale.
AND HE DID!
